CCTP01 : Introduction to Podcasting

Course Description

This one day workshop is aimed at any mac users needing to gain an
podcasting
understanding of podcasting technologies and podcast creation. This session will primarily focus on audio and enhanced podcasts created using free tools provided with the Apple iLife suite.

The workshop will cover the basics of podcasting including an appreciation of the various podcasting technologies available, choosing podcasting equipment, planning and designing podcasts, podcast creation, podcast editing and publication. The workshop will include both demonstrations and hands on exercises for the delegates to experience just how easy podcasting can be and how podcasts can be created and published.

Uniquely, this session is delivered by one of the top UK podcasters - Don McAllister - who has been podcasting since the phenomenon started. Regularly listed as on of the top 20 technology podcasters in iTunes both in the US and the UK, Don can speak authoritatively on the whole area of podcast creation and production since becoming one of the few full time podcasters in the world.

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at all levels and is for anyone who wants to learn about podcasting in general or is thinking about creating their own podcasts.

Pre-Requisities

None! - No prior knowledge of podcasting is assumed. No prior experience with the Mac is required but a 1 day "Introduction to Mac" workshop is available if required.

CCTP02 : Advanced Podcasting

Course Description

This one day workshop follows on from the ‘Introduction to Podcasting’
videopodcasting
workshop and is aimed at users with some understanding of podcasting technologies who need to explore the topic in greater depth. The workshop also looks at creating video podcasts and screencasts.

Using tools provided with the Apple Mac platform, the workshop will cover the more advanced aspects of audio and enhanced podcast recording and post production, creating and editing video podcasts and screencasts, RSS feed creation and publication.

The workshop will include both demonstrations and hands on exercises for the delegates to practice some of the techniques examined during the workshop.

This workshop explores the benefits of podcasting in

business environment and promotes the usage of podcasting as a sales, communications and marketing tool.

The workshop opens up the untapped potential of podcasting to business users and provides the attendee with an understanding of podcasting technologies and podcast creation. This session will primarily focus on creating a podcasting strategy but will also look at some simple podcasting techniques to bring the production of your podcast in house.

This one day course introduces students to the

Apple mac platform and demonstrates the basic functionality of the Mac OSX operating system.

Following this course the student will have a full appreciation of the power and elegance of the Mac and will have the skills necessary to get the most out of their Mac.

CCT002 : Mac & OSX Technical Briefing

Course Description

This one day course is a preliminary course for users new to
osxbox
Mac OS X who may need a more technical appreciation of the Mac OS X to provide local support to other Mac OS X users.

This workshop covers some of the more advanced aspects of the Mac OS X including customising system preferences, setting up multiple user accounts, using the Terminal and general troubleshooting hints and tips for the Mac. The workshop will also cover using Macs in a dual OS X and Windows environment via virtualisation using Parallels for OS X and dual booting using Apples BootCamp.

NB This course does not include Mac OS X Server - This will be the subject of another workshop in development.

Who Should Attend

Intended for new Mac OS X users who may be called upon to support other Mac OS X users in a business or group environment. Typically IT support, power users, service technicians or anyone who managers networks of Mac OS X systems for their organisations.

Pre-Requisities

Some computer knowledge would be advantageous - Windows or Mac. Attendance on the "Introduction to Mac (Basic User)" is recommended for new Mac users although not mandatory.
